Since the foundation of Giudecca 795 Art Gallery in Venezia (2007), then extended to Treviso in its second offline venue, we turned 795 Art Gallery into an online art gallery whose missio is still the search and presentation of new talents. Photography, painting, design and -- more recently -- street art and mosaics are the different modes of expression being explored. So after 15 years of activity in Giudecca, we have embraced a new challenge, a complete change in business, way of life, and environment.
We are focusing both on the artists with whom the gallery already collaborates and on talent-scouting competitions such as the
"One Day in Venezia Photo Contest"
for
aspiring photographers. The 2020 and 2021's
exhibit programmes have been revolutioned because of the acqua alta, the lockdown and the Covid-19 restrictions;
in TREVISO our temporary shop has open for our clients, and at the same time we have been pleased to launch a series of
virtual art exhibits for selected artists whom we represent.
Besides hosting ongoing projects with our artists, we have been pleased to be the first gallery for street art in Venice, proud to present
Inside-Outers: 4 street artists in Venice: at the beginning of the 58th Art Biennale, besides spreading drops of lively art and beauty in the most abandoned corners of Venice, four artists have produced original pieces at our gallery,
and this puts their work under a very special light.
We confirm the collaboration with the
One Day in Venezia photo contest (which awards a winner each month and a yearly Grand Prize Winner). In 2020 the contest has been suspended during the lockdown, and it is rebooting. Giudecca 795 has offered part of its space to the contest, hosts the winner's solo show, the collective exhibition of the 12 finalists and the special prizes, and a digital display showing all the submitted photos. Obviously the restrictions and issues we had to face as a gallery during the pandemic time have reflected on the photocontest activity. Nevertheless, we are happy to launch the virtual shows.
The contest gives visibility to all the participants, in a kaleidoscope of very special images of Venice as seen through the eyes of its most attentive visitors.
Also in the previous editions we have found interesting new talents, whom we are encouraging. To mention some: the Grand Winner 2017
Tatiana Lazareva (Russia) has revealed her style in the solo show hosted by the gallery, and is now listed among our artists.
Annik Susemihl has been intensifying her activity as a photographer and has published a Venice Carnival calendar of her own with a German publisher. Italian
Marco Buson is determined to develop his artistic side and let us enjoy more of his travel photography. Czech amateur photographer
Jaroslav Mares is also featured among our artists in the new gallery in Treviso, where the solo show by
Gabriel Baiguini (Switzerland), had been very successful. Way to go!
