Born in Venice in 1948, he practices drawing and painting, as well as other media, to attain images in which colours and shapes modulate to convey the sensation of a streamy flooding experience. Like water is fluent and changes continuously form as it moves, and appears and disappears in waves on sea and earth, so by means of shapes and colors Rosa Salva aims to recreate patterns suggesting movement on a square, flat surface. Trasparency and volumes modulate together in textures which are solid, yet at the same time fluid and soft. As the work proceeds, the transformation of raw materials in rhythmic shapes and no-shapes arrives to its aesthetic end, and an inner elegance is revealed which comes from tonal relationships, and from a very basical, primordial symbolic of order/disorder.
