Lalla Malvezzi

Painter and sculptor, Lalla Malvezzi studied with Luigi Tito at the Academy of Fine Arts. Self-portraits, nudes (mostly feminine), oils on paper and canvas, seas and nature. Courageous, sincere, instinctive and meditative painter, transparent in offering herself to the looks of others, in revealing hidden wounds, anxieties and unresolved conflicts. In the words of the renowned painter and sculptor Michele Cascella, Malvezzi "rivives Mahler's musical dialogue with the implacable strength of her drawing, with groups of shaken nudes, imploring architectural prayers which almost speak to you, most of all through her selfportraits. Her whole world, which appears tragic, hides that enchantment for which the spirit yearns, like the light of a solitary traveller who continues down the long earthen road of art with only his instinct to assist him".
